About InvisiClues.org
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.
In the year 788 G.U.E., Lord Dimwit Flathead the Excessive commissioned the construction of an archive like none before -- a codex of ultimate wisdom bringing together all knowledge and media from across Quendor. With the collapse of the Great Underground Empire in G.U.E. 883, the archive was believed lost to time.
Recently, though, an erstwhile adventurer discovered the remains of the Royal Archive while searching for his lost dog near the Frigid River. The recovered archives and its knowledge are immortalized here, at Invisiclues.org.
New content is added to the archives as archaeologists continue to unearth additional artifacts of the mysterious institution known only as Infocom.
But seriously...
This website is a labor of love maintained by an Infocom fan and obssessive archivist who fondly remembers the first time he was eaten by a grue in the early 1980s. The site is dedicated to (1) archiving historical Infocom-related artifacts -- InvisiClues, of course, but also magazine articles, marketing material, packaging, artwork, literature, and the games themselves -- and (2) making the archives available in an enjoyable format.
Building this website has been a nostalgic experience for me, both because of the content and because of the presentation. In the early 1980s, I authored a locally-popular BBS software for the Commodore 64 called The Circle of Wizards that also drew heavily on Infocom lore as part of the user experience.
In reproducing the InvisiClues booklets and historical publications, great care has been taken to try to reproduce the original documents in terms of format, feel, and experience as closely as possible. The site is currently in its nascent stages, but I add new content at least weekly. My goal is to showcase InvisiClues.org as the ultimate archive of all things Infocom.
I hope you will enjoy re-living the nostalgia with me.
